Plan the Perfect Getaway Together

Here are a few ideas to take your partner on and enjoy some quality time together. Whether that means rekindling what you once had, or celebrating the passion and spark between you two, these ideas and locations are the perfect way to really get away.

Dates

  • Start with the perfect date and have a romantic picnic together. Being outside has so many benefits, you can both explore, walk and have those long talks like you did on your first date. Primrose Hill has a beautiful view of London and a great atmosphere. If you're looking for something a little outside of the city, the Lake District is another beautiful spot to get some fresh air and enjoy the romantic scenery. Corpse Hill Road in Lower Slaughter, Cotswolds is a beautiful little village, filled with untouched cottages and flower pots colouring the streets is the place to get some peace and focus on each other.
  • The beach is another great opportunity to bond and allow your relationship to flourish. There are some beautiful beaches that could really set the mood. Scotland, Cornwall, Wales; all these beautiful locations have beaches that will take your breath away. To get some ideas, you can look at our list of top 5 beaches in the UK. That could follow with a few romantic boat rides, paddle boats or any other boat that gets the two of you away and out into the majestic ocean.

Days

  • There are some activities that may take all day and there's nothing wrong with that. You could go visit a castle and truly embark on that romantic history and atmosphere behind the architecture. A lot of castles nowadays host weddings, so they must have some romantic spark. One example includes the Bodiam Castle in East Sussex. You can read the rest of our recommendations for other great castles across the UK. Take a few days at a hotel nearby, have a candlelit dinner and spend the day visiting the castle and all areas around it.
  • If you want to completely breathe in something new and disconnect from the business of every day life, Cotswolds is for you. You don't need to go to France or Rome to get a sense of beauty and culture. Cotswolds is a rural area of south central England with beautiful rolling hills, stone cottages on every corner and a sense of inspiration through its architecture. It's filled with wonderful attractions and activities, you won't want to leave.

Activities

  • An activity that every couple should try, not only because of its romance but the fun and adventure it can bring into your relationship, is dance classes. You can find agencies all over the UK that provide dance lessons where couples can go and fire up their inner passion for each other and show it through dance. Simply Dancing Partners provides salsa, ballroom, tango. Experiment with each other and see where and what mindset this activity could get you in.
  • There are endless sports you can both partake in. You could try tall ship sailing for a day in Dorset or in Southampton or Portsmouth. Either way, you'll be enjoying some spectacular views. One particular fun option is also indoor sky diving. If you can brave real sky diving, then good for you. But if you're unsure and you want to start easy, try indoor. It's the perfect way to make each other smile and get your adrenaline pumping. Airkix for example, has branches all across the UK. Give yourselves a chance to fly. So ladies, let the man be the superhero. At least for a day.
